CMYKswatches came into being after experiencing colour calibration difficulties from the concept of using professional artworking software programmes, through to the printed product.
Working in print for over 45 years including a five year apprenticeship as a compositor/typesetter Steven Walker came to the conclusion that there is still the problem of choosing the correct colour for the client printed on the stock they require in CMYK inks.
From the CMYK website you can download the pdf file, print on your own presses, on whatever stock(s) are required for your client, whether it be silk, gloss or bond. Your clients can then choose the colours for their work that are available on your equipment.
Testing the product on digital presses (different manufacturers), it was noticed that highlight dots (tints) were not showing in the range of 5 to 10% magenta, 5 to 20% cyan all with a 30% yellow incorporated with them, this means these presses were not calibrated correctly or were unable to print fine highlights. Cmykswatches can help you find out.
