|The Window Film Company seals exclusive deal for use of MissPrint designs
An exclusive partnership between The Window Film Company and the design house MissPrint, brings six of the company’s iconic designs onto window film for the first time. The designs - Ditto, Little Trees, Muscat, Saplings, Ditsy Dandelion and Figs - are offered in a choice of finishes and are printed and cut to order at The Window Film Company’s in-house print and design studio.
Says Micky Calcott, The Window Film Company’s Managing Director: “We’ve been aware of MissPrint for some time and are delighted to be able to offer six of their stylish designs on our window film. By making the range available in white print or cut from frost, we’re offering our clients a choice of finishes, in turn allowing them to meet the specific aesthetic need of their premises or project. The contemporary nature of the designs means they lend themselves to use in residential and retail environments and in addition to a great take up from our DIY customers, they are also proving popular with architects and trade clients.”
MissPrint was set up by mother and daughter team Yvonne and Rebecca Drury in 2005 and, in the intervening 10 years, it has grown steadily, while keeping a real family connection. The company specialises in developing contemporary designs for interior products. Its work is heavily influenced by nature and also carries themes and ideas from mid-century and Scandinavian design which are simple, clean and lean heavily on organic forms. MissPrint’s designs are popular with interior designers and they have developed a series of exclusive designs for bed linen, floor coverings and kitchenware for John Lewis and the ‘Woodland Collection’ for Heals Discovers.
Explaining the development of the window film designs Yvonne Drury said; “We were initially approached by The Window Film Company because they liked our designs and felt that they would work well on film. The transition of the designs from fabrics and wall coverings to this new medium has actually been quite easy, we just had to concentrate very carefully on scale and layout.
“All our designs are hand drawn and if you look carefully you will see that all the elements in the design block are different. I think it is this illustrative quality and the attention to detail that makes them so special.”
The first six designs are now available to order from The Window Film Company’s website (www.windowfilm.co.uk ) but they have already attracted so much attention that a new set of designs are already being developed.
