Toshiba TEC introduces e-STUDIO506SE

Toshiba TEC UK Imaging Systems has announced the launch of its newest e-STUDIO506SE mono multifunction product (MFP), which offers advanced copy, print, scan and fax capabilities in one innovative networked unit.

As part of the company's industry leading Document Manager portfolio the easy to use e-STUDIO506SE offers unrivalled reliability and outstanding performance, with a speed of 50 pages per minute (ppm) and a high quality print resolution of 2400x600dpi. It can perform double sided printing and copying on paper sizes ranging from A5R to A3, which increases productivity while saving paper and reducing costs, and comes with a range of finishing options that allow users to staple and hole punch documents or even create a booklet.

Suitable for large print jobs, it is perfect in a wide range of businesses. Its adjustable 22.8cm touch screen allows for intuitive operation and user specific template buttons can also be configured to apply even its most complex settings via a single click.

Feature rich, the latest generation of Toshiba TEC's e-BRIDGE X controller technology is also incorporated and thanks to the versatile printer driver large print jobs can even be allocated to two different e-STUDIO systems. With the e-BRIDGE Job Point plug-in technology it is possible to increase that number to as many as 10 e-STUDIO systems within a network. e-BRIDGE also provides access to Google Docs, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Exchange and other Internet based application platforms meaning that they too can become part of a document workflow.

Protection of confidential and vital information has never has been more crucial than it is today and Toshiba TEC adopts a 'whole life' approach to security - from document creation, to its use and disposal. As part of this ethos the e-STUDIO506SE utilises the company's unique Secure Erase Drive (SED) technology that makes unauthorised access to information stored on it impossible.

All data is encrypted with a 256-bit AES algorithm and the encryption key is stored on the hard disk itself. In addition, the SED knows which device it has been built into and will allow only this system to access the data. If the SED is removed and connected to another device authentication will fail and the encryption key is automatically deleted, making it impossible to decrypt any information. Moreover, this is all achieved with virtually no loss of performance.

Chris Mills, Toshiba TEC UK Imaging Systems product manager, commented, 'The e-STUDIO506SE is a mid-range MFP that benefits day to day business operations through its intuitive design and workflow enhancing features. It is designed to be highly energy efficient, and, as part of Toshiba's Carbon Zero Scheme, all carbon emissions produced during its manufacture are entirely offset, making it one of the most environmentally friendly MFPs currently on the market.'
