E: email@example.comKonica Minolta Business Solutions UK Ltd
Ahead of DPW, Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd have just launched the bizhub PRO C5500 as an entry-level addition to its bizhub PRO range of digital production print systems. With an output speed of 55 prints per minute for A4 colour or black-and-white output, the bizhub PRO C5500 has a compact footprint making it highly suitable for CRD (central reprographic departments) or for high volume environments. Although compact, the bizhub PRO C5500 has a robust all-metal construction and is suitable for monthly output volumes of between 30,000 to 60,000 pages. The innovative bizhub PRO C5500 benefits from several new technological advances for high-quality, high-speed colour print production. SEAD (Screen-Enhancing Active Digital Process) is a unique screening method providing advanced colour processing for improved image quality with considerably smoother backgrounds. In addition Konica Minolta's ITbit (Image Tag bit) technology produces enhanced halftone printing, showing visible improvements particularly for outlines, reversed and slim text.
Technical innovation also makes paper processing in the bizhub PRO C5500 fast and ultra-reliable. Air assisted feeding rollers and dehumidification heaters on each paper tray, as well as a double feed detection mechanism ensure paper feed reliability. Both paper and toner can be replenished 'on the fly', without the need to stop production on the system.
The bizhub PRO C5500 is available with a variety of flexible finishing options. The optional booklet finisher will automate the production of booklets and brochures, providing in-line half-fold and saddle stitching functionality. Booklets can be made up to 20 sheets thick for a maximum 80 page document. The booklet maker can also be used for multi-position stapling of up to 50 sheets per stapled set.
A post inserter is also available to automate insertion of pre-printed covers into documents printed on the bizhub PRO C5500. Other finishing options include a staple finisher and in-line punching for two or four holes. As the bizhub PRO C5500 staples and punches at the full rated speed of 55ppm there is no loss of speed for producing finished documents. The high throughput means the bizhub PRO C5500 offers productivity for CRDs and copy shops where volume, quality and turn round of work is critical.
The bizhub PRO C6500e is currently the only colour digital print system to offer on-line perfect binding. Sheets can be bound between a minimum of 15 sheets (30 pages) and up to a maximum 30mm spine width (300 sheets/600 pages when 80 gsm is used), including z-folded sheets. Automatic in-line trimming of covers to the exact size required ensures sophisticated print products every time without manual intervention.
Visitors can also see the ground breaking bizhub PRO 1050e production print system with a maximum throughput of 6,300 mono impressions an hour (105 prints per minute). Designed as a complete document production system with optional on-line print finishing units for six-way folding, booklet making and post inserting, the bizhub PRO 1050 can print variable data onto stock up to SRA3 to generate profit for commercial printers.

E: firstname.lastname@example.orgMorgana Systems Ltd
See Morgana's complete range of UK-made creasing products, from manual models up to highly
sophisticated total systems such as the DocuMaster.
Morgana now supplies about 80% of creasers installed throughout the world and the products on display at DPW will reinforce the company's claim to leadership in the field of finishing systems that meet the
special needs of the digital printer.
Products featured include the new Mk III version of the suction fed AutoCreaser 33, which now features higher speeds, the ability to perform more creases on a sheet and more streamlined controls, including a 'head up' display and also the larger AutoCreaser 50, which operates at speeds of 6500 creases per hour, takes sheets up to 500 x 700mm and makes 16 creases in a single pass. The semi-automatic DigiCreaser - ideal for lower volume digital printers - will also be demonstrated, as will the Morgana DigiFold, which combines the operations of creasing and folding, using a patented folding method that dispenses with the need for conventional buckle plates so as to minimise the possibility of damage to even the most delicate substrate.
At the top of the Morgana range is the DocuMaster, a favourite amongst high volume producers of digital print. This product takes digital finishing a step forward by providing a complete system that combines creasing, folding and stitching to produce quality booklets in a variety of formats. It also provides great flexibility as it can be used as an independent creaser with the ability to perforate. The stitching unit can be by-passed for simple folding work and an optional 'square back' system will square the back of thicker books for a perfect bound appearance.
In addition to its creasing systems and multi-function finishing products, Morgana will also show its range of folders and numberers, as well as EBA programmatic guillotines, Foldnak booklet makers and other complementary finishing products. The new Morgana CardMaster, designed to provide integrated creasing and folding of greeting cards, will also be in action.
